People
People making places
At WW+P we place people at the heart of everything we do, from the places we design, to the studio culture we foster. We know that it takes great people to make great designs, and they need great working environments to thrive in.
As an inclusive and welcoming practice, we are committed to prioritising equality, diversity and inclusion by bringing together global and local expertise through staff who share in our vision and values. We want to create a workforce that reflects the communities we design for, one that is diverse in its experience, backgrounds and viewpoints.
Our staff are supported at every stage of their career, encouraging growth and learning. Through mentoring programmes, individualised training plans and regular reviews we create the space for our staff to realise their full potential, and become rounded members of WW+P.
Process + Innovation
The way we design is born out of experience, innovation and an appreciation of the character of a place. In valuing our staff’s thinking we create an environment that promotes collaborative learning, innovative thought and ways of working across our global studios. We recognise the lived experiences of all our staff to promote innovation and challenge ideas.
Our design process is central to the growth of our teams, and how we interact with our clients and our collaborators. The WW+P sketchbook process encourages our staff to showcase their sketching ability and conceptual thinking, working through design options. All our design work is supported by in-house model workshops, where we use a range of modelling techniques to truly push our knowledge of materials and construction. Our computational design team are at the forefront of digital design understanding where technology can enhance our understanding of design.
Our strong links with schools and universities allow us to work closely with the next generation of architects and designers. These connections give us a glimpse into the future, where we can learn as much from the students as they can from us.
Supporting an ethical future
We are environmentally and socially aware as a practice, careful to work with responsible clients and collaborators. Our ethics inform our behaviours, how we support our people and how we relate to the world around us. They are the foundation of our approach that drives us to make a positive difference.
The communities where we work are important to us. We are actively involved with local schools, charities and social enterprises supporting them where they need us, through education, training, work experience and design.
We work to create a regenerative future, creating spaces and places that are sustainable for future generations. Our sustainability efforts are driven by all parts of the practice, with an active group of employees challenging ways of thinking and pushing ourselves and our clients to do better.
We encourage our staff to engage with initiatives they are passionate about, whether that is the projects we work on, the organisations we support, or the environment we work in.
