People-focused
Our redevelopment of Waterloo has expanded passenger capacity and facilities at the UK’s largest and busiest railway station. Below five new platforms for domestic rail services, the project also incorporates The Sidings: a 130,000 sq ft retail development providing a range of bars, shops and cafes, as well as an immersive theatre experience.
Inventive
We created an elegant structure that connects the former Eurostar terminal with the original station, creating a generous new concourse and radically improving connections for passengers. Areas that were previously used as waiting areas, security and passport control were remodelled to transform facilities for travellers as well as local residents and workers.
Responsible
When Eurostar services moved from Waterloo to St Pancras in 2007, the international terminal at Waterloo became redundant. Our project brought new life to this extraordinary building, expanded public transport connections into central London, and created new retail and leisure facilities that support passengers as well as the local economy.
