WW+P to support Egis’s design services for South Commuter Railway in the Philippines
We're excited to mark our first project in the Philippines, supporting Egis’s design services for South Commuter Railway in Manila.
As the primary consultant to the Leighton-First Balfour Joint Venture (LFBJV), Egis is overseeing comprehensive design services for the South Commuter Railway Project (SCRP) FTI station. WW+P brings its specialised transport and urban design input to help Egis ensure the station design prioritises passenger safety, comfort, and inclusivity, adhering to international best practices.
Egis is driving the FTI station design which is part of the SCRP’s development, which spans approximately 6.1km of railway alongside the FTI Station and tunnelling works connecting to the Senate Station of Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP); the first subway system in the Philippines.
Key features of the FTI Station design include barrier-free connectivity, intuitive wayfinding, protection from environmental elements, and provisions for future transit-oriented developments (TOD).
Upon completion of the development, the SCRP will revolutionise mobility in the Philippines by reducing travel times, easing congestion, and promoting sustainable urban growth. By connecting Manila with key provinces, it will drive economic activity, job creation, and accessibility for diverse communities, including the elderly, disabled, and families, while aligning with environmental goals and enhancing resilience against climate change.
We’re proud to mark our first project in the Philippines, bringing WW+P’s expertise in transport and urban design to a country with such dynamic potential. Our approach places people at the heart of the station experience, ensuring safety, comfort, and inclusivity through thoughtful design that meets international best practices. We’re excited to contribute our design excellence to this important milestone in the Philippines’ transport future.
